SHARING SOME MUSIC AND MORE PICTURES

Although I no longer tour or perform live I do I alot of composing and arranging at home.  So, For your listening pleasure here are several of my original compositions or should I say; "Joints", "Beats", "Jams", "Tracks" or "Songs" of mine. Depending on your internet connection speed It may take a minute or two to download so please hang loose…and enjoy and dance like nobody is watching. Also I have added some new photos to my photo album, one of them is of Celia Cruz, with Jorge Gonzalez on Bongos...Jorge thanks for the pic.

AND YOU THINK YOU HAVE IT BAD?

I look at what’s going on in New Orleans and Mississippi and my heart goes out to all the people there.  Most of the 1 million people that this natural disaster has affected have NOTHING to go back too, no jobs, no home and some no family. They have no water or food, and many people have died…

The Red Cross and many other organizations are doing what they can but they can always use some assistance.  Beginning this coming Monday I will receive further training and will be answering phones and doing anything else that I can at the Red Cross Headquarters.  If you’re not able to volunteer your time they can always use a donation. 

The people in those states HAVE IT BAD!!! ..We don’t.  Yea, am sure we all have this or that happening, but let’s get real!

You know these days, actually since the Tsunami occurred, when people ask me “how you doing?” I respond with “Am doing GREAT!” Yea, I was unemployed for 6 months and begin working again 3 months ago, am still behind a bill or two; I don’t own a home yet, I want to be in a meaningful relationship with an intelligent sexy and good hearted woman but I am not.  When I look at the big picture these are trivial situations. …

Several reasons why I am doing “GREAT” and I really believe that this applies to many of us.  I know where my close relatives are.  I am healthy. I can take a shower. I have a job to go too each weekday morning. I eat what I want when I want. I can fill in the blank. I am fill in the blank.  We can go on and on to look for thing to be grateful for and we should.  For me I try to do this on a daily basis, some days are better then others but the reality is...is that I AM DOING GREAT AND SO ARE YOU!

My First Trip Away From Home

Here is a very sweet story that my granddaughter wrote for me. She is a beautiful and intelligent 8 year old inspiring writer. I told her if she wrote something for me I would post it on my website…Alize, here it is.

 
My First Trip Away From Home

One day I was packing my stuff to go to Puerto Rico I was happy at the time, but then at the same time I wasn’t. I was going with my cousins and not my mom, that’s what made me sad. I was told that I had to go. When I arrived at the airport I sat next to my mom until it was time for my plane to leave.

 My cousins were doing the same thing because we weren’t going to see our parents for two weeks. When it was time for our plane to leave I started to hug my mom and I began to cry. I told her to call me every day and she said that she would call me every day so she could speak to me. When we were taking off all of my cousins started to cry and so I took my blanket out of my carry on bag and wiped my tears with it. When I was there and I was waiting for my grandmother I was with my cousins and we were trying to get our luggage but that did not work. So I kept on looking to see if my grandmother was there and she was. I told my cousin that I saw the people that were going to pick me up. They helped me get my luggage and they helped my cousins get their luggage.  When they looked out the door they saw their grandmothers and my grandma. So, since we were all hungry my grandmother said that we all would go to Wendy’s to get a little bite to eat. That way we would not be hungry on the way to my Great Grandmothers house. Because,  she did not cook and if we were hungry there was no food for us to eat. So after we ate we went to my grandmother’s house and that was boring because she is old.

 So after that we went home and I unpacked my clothes. After one week I was sad. I missed my mom. So I told my grandmother and she said that I shouldn’t be sad because my mom is coming in one week. So after that week me and my grandma went to the airport to pick up my mom. When we were there,  we saw my mom and we went to help her get her luggage so we could go home. After my mom got her luggage we went home and while we were in the car I asked my mom how long are we staying here. She said like about one week or five days and then she said why?  I said I don’t know why, I just want to know how long we were staying.

 When we got home we helped her unpack her stuff. The next day we went to the water park but it wasn’t any fun, because my grandmother does not like water rides, so she did not go inside the water even when I  begged her so much, she still would not go in the water.

After a week, there was only a few days left to before I went home. The rest of the days we were there we went horse back riding and we went to the beach. Then when the day came to leave I also cried because I was going to miss my grandmother; what we did together and she wasn’t going to come to New York for a long time. We had a great time together and I was going to miss the water park
